​​​​​The school's Parents and Citizens Association (P & C) assists in promoting the interests and facilitating the development of the school. The role of the P & C is to:

  • Foster community interest in educational matters;

  • Bring closer cooperation between parents, staff, students and other community members;

  • Provide advice to the Principal on issues and concerns in respect of students and the general operation and management of the school;

  • Participate in school community committees and/or working parties that contribute to the general benefit of the school;

  • Perform other functions as determined by the Minister.

The Mount Samson P & C generally meets twice per term at 6:00 pm in the school staffroom. It is advisable to check the school newsletter or contact the office for meeting days. New members are always welcome.

P&Cs Qld is the peak body supporting and representing more than 576,000 state school parents and wider school communities throughout Queensland. Our Parent Talk magazine is a parent focused publication and published on a quarterly basis. It is circulated throughout Queensland state schools and P&Cs as a resource to provide parents and school communities with regular news and information on a wide range of topics relevant to parenting and education. Research confirms that where parents and community are engaged in their children's education the outcomes vastly increase.
