​​​​​​The school's Parents and Citizens Association (P & C) assists in promoting the interests and facilitating the development of the school. The role of the P & C is to:

  • Foster community interest in educational matters;

  • Bring closer cooperation between parents, staff, students and other community members;

  • Provide advice to the Principal on issues and concerns in respect of students and the general operation and management of the school;

  • Participate in school community committees and/or working parties that contribute to the general benefit of the school;

  • Perform other functions as determined by the Minister.

The Mount Samson P & C generally meets twice per term at 6:00 pm in the school staffroom. It is advisable to check the school newsletter or contact the office for meeting days. New members are always welcome.

P&Cs Qld is the peak body supporting and representing more than 576,000 state school parents and wider school communities throughout Queensland. We support the achievement of quality educational outcomes for students through fostering parental and community engagement in a thriving and successful education system. Our Parent Talk magazine is a parent focused publication and published on a quarterly basis. It is circulated throughout Queensland state schools and P&Cs as a resource to provide parents and school communities with regular news and information on a wide range of topics relevant to parenting and education. Research confirms that where parents and community are engaged in their children's education the outcomes vastly increase.
