Mount Samson State School was established in 1874 and for many years was a small one or two teacher school servicing the surrounding rural area. In recent years the school has grown to over 255 students in 2022, whilst still maintaining a close and supportive atmosphere.
The school operates a rigorous academic curriculum based on the Australian Curriculum. Academic achievement is our core business and our school has a shared belief that every student can be successful.
We also believe that all students have a right to a safe, supportive environment and all parents, staff and the wider community expect it. Our school explicitly and implicitly promotes the Six Pillars of Character - Respect, Fairness, Trustworthiness, Citizenship, Responsibility and Caring. These values underpin our social development program and Responsible Behaviour Plan and are reinforced daily.
