Mount Samson State School was established in 1874 and for many years was a small one or two teacher school servicing the surrounding rural area. In recent years the school has grown to over 255 students in 2020, whilst still maintaining a close and supportive atmosphere.
The school operates a rigorous academic curriculum based on the Australian Curriculum. Academic achievement is our core business and our school has a shared belief that every student can be successful.
We also believe that all students have a right to a safe, supportive environment and all parents, staff and the wider community expect it. Our school explicitly and implicitly promotes the Six Pillars of Character - Respect, Fairness, Trustworthiness, Citizenship, Responsibility and Caring. These values underpin our social development program and Responsible Behaviour Plan and are reinforced daily.
Due to the demand for places at the school and the limitations of the site in terms of facilities the school has an Enrolment Management Plan (EMP) to manage enrolments from outside the geographic catchment. This EMP also includes a link to a map defining the catchment. A hard copy of both the EMP and the catchment map can be viewed at the school office.
